“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.”

Ode to The Dress
for getting me through
every emotion of October.
for being a quiet distraction
and now it’s au revoir.
i’m going to Sydney:
with or without you.

the answer to life,
day # 27
aka she's so high
"does my bum look big in this?"actually i have my full running gears on (which i have been wearing all day, in hopes of persuading self to GO FOR A RUN) under The Dress. and actually, i just popped The Dress on for five minutes - at four thirty - to LOOK like i've been a faithful model (it's amazing what ya can do to persuade the internet).
so - i originally had the hose wound around my waist as a BELT, but BD said i looked like Jane with an anaconda.
immediate hose droppage ensued and then i managed to rip its head off. even after talking myself down, i still couldn't quite bring self to hold ithe hose/belt properly and there is no way we're repeating THAT photo shoot - apologies to Arthur - it was such a great idea... X
The Dress had a night out at the cinema with
The Third Most Beautiful Girl In The Room
and Coco Chanel...
(if you're a chick and haven't seen it yet - allez!)
beach and girlfriends in the morning.siesta in the afternoon.big famdamily fun nite planned for the evening.life as we knew it has returned... X
had a wee sea adventure today. loved it.

Titania, Queen of the Fairies
aka The Antidote to 60 Hours Inside the Batcave
i had this crazy idea
that our year would consist of
philosophical beachy meanderings,
interspersed with little lectures.
inside the batcave.
hunched shoulders, dry lips.

The Dress has been westified.
actually that jumper is
a beautifully soft Roxy,
from our Great Big $3 Spendup.
i keep finding it in Woozie's room,
so i just sneak it back to mine...
well, it's nearly dinner time, and i'm still in my PJs. this morning The Dress had a swim and a press, and i had plans for A Week of Silly Dress Ups... but i see it is still hanging up. instead i am in the middle of a cyclic swirl of coffee, smint, essay, coffee, smint, essay, coffee, smint, nana nap, coffee, smint, essay...
here's to the dim light at the end of this last tunnel.
friday night. secret garden. ice cold corona. this man has made me ratatouille. and cleaned the car. and the house. one night off. assignment-writing all weekend.
then pre-exam swot class. then exam.
then the assignment tweak.
then going out dancing...
that's the plan.
it's the home stretch, baby X
mrs teacher: making rockets with six year olds.
(using success criteria,
because all learning must be measured.)
an apple for the teacher.
lock up your guinea pigs -
lock 'em up tight...
hoping this morning's
is gonna last all day...*celebrating*
cos BD has just
posted off his
Very Last Essay -
that's 15 essays in 15 months.
and it's my very last
uni lecture today -
for the rest of the week!! X
am sick and tired of seeing my face. this shot gives a way better view of today's pièce de résistance anyhoo - yep - i finally have me a BILLABONG bag!!! i scored it for two bucks at a garage sale in the weekend. oh, and the pink hoodie is EVERLAST and i scored it for three bucks. and lookit - i have an aerial protruding from my skull. i can do the robot dance too, but not here.
goes to the beach
Apron Dress Ups
might persuade self
to make dinner...
extreme close up...
i have new specs!!!!!
they are actually a brilliant paua blue
but wait, there's more!!! another pair free!!
i look like my mummy X
PS i am already totally sick of The Dress.
yeah - what was i thinking?
21 days to go and i really need to make friends with it.
same old, same old.
and a bad hair day.
jeans, espresso, and mary janes.
and a squirt of frown-botox desired.
that's a curtsey.
cos today i performed-ed my eight-minute presentation/pretend job interview that has been all-consuming this past week.
which equals two assignments and eighteen sleeps to go...
and *whispers gleefully* i've got tickets. lots and lots and lots of tickets... X
today's feature: the h'umbrella. 'nuff said.
fell off the wagon last night.
woke up with this man in my bed.
and i was in PJs for the first half of the day too, trying to finish an assignment, which is still looking evasive. but this arvo i'm wearing my fave old shoes, *and* The Dress... which is starting to look like it needs a good press. so i hided it. *photo credit: charlie. anyway, never mind me,
check out these groovy lads:
who watched frank until
the wee small hours
and then turned themselves
yeah, it's a bit freezier in The Sunny Bay aujourd'hui - lovin' the shorty black layers:
today's feature: THE ARMPIT BAG (named by sam this morning as i was dashing out - mum, *raises eyebrow* i love your ARMPIT BAG), nicked outta the dress-up box.
meet THE DRESS.
it's a cute little hippie hand-me-down strappy silky (that's an adjective, masquerading as a noun). today has dawned bright and clear, and i have done a deal with Bulldog. today i'll have an adventure with the kids while he does his essay, and tomorrow we do a swapsie. so - we're heading for the beach.
hence the bare feet. and the cheesy grin.
