“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.”

i remember when our babygirl was teeny, i acquired this idiotic notion that parents' beds were just for parents. no kiddos allowed. thankfully she didn't listen. when charlie was growing in my tummy and space was at a premium with pillows holding up my achyness and daddy squeezed over in one corner of the parental bed, we'd wake up in the mornings with Miss Two starfished between us and both of us would give the hairy eyeball to each other and and have no idea how she climbed in there.
last night, in the middle of the night, i awoke to a flash of lightning immediately followed by the loudest thunder i've evah heard. there were electrics RIGHT ON TOP OF OUR HOUSE!!! followed by an immediate pitter patter of sixteen year old feet racing into our bedroom and bundling into bed. hello, starfish.

Awwwwww, sweetness!
I'm off to bed, out little starfish was visiting last night ;)
Oh, that's so adorable! We had a crazy night here too - Sophie was a total insomniac, but still happy with it. She must have missed at least four hour's sleep (as did we), but she trooped through today, without a nap, and snuffled off to bed a little earlier than usual.
Hope your (not so) little starfish has a more peaceful night's sleep tonight - you reminded me of the scene out of 'Sound of Music' with the thunderstorm... x
Aw, bless. :) It IS an idiotic notion that parents' beds are just for parents, no?
Kids are for life... not just for childhood...! ;-)
lol - that's beau-ti-ful!!!
love love love
:D
Do you know I slept through the big storm here the other night? Everyone was talking about it the next morning. Now I know why: No kiddos jumped into bed with me during the storm!
My goodness. Kate - they grow up but they are still ours. Snuggling is the best. - now we have a little furry thing too that shares our bed - and it's not Drew * smile* xxx
Oh perfect. We saw the storm on the news, thankfully we were spared. Some of us don't do thunder too well either... No-one sneaks in with us duing the night anymore although weekends are a different story. Love the snuggly story.
Love.
{especially the starfish nickname}
Oh, starfish snuggling in bed with Mama and Papa. Perfect at any age, and especially on stormy nights. What a great night and a great memories :)
