kate5kiwis: barista sisters

kate5kiwis

“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.” — Mitsugi Saotome

barista sisters

irrepressible gardenia

the secretive scented place

where we divulge our souls

and inhale twin rats’ tails

of chocolatey sunbeans

imbibing airy

wisps of flat white cloud

hearts travel

heavens unravel

steam’s constant solace

in time and space

we pay homage

to fair italia

melodious froth layers

fix of laughter

and occasional river

as fountain’s aria sweetly stirs

tiny white flower petals

into a head of espresso

camellia cappuccino

we sip the murky crema

of our daily grind.

Kate -- I have lost TWO comments!! My dumb computer! Something about an Italian Opera aria -- a not too frothy one -- Verdi? Something Something Teresa Stratas and Traviata and camellias. Something the steam rising and the aroma and the sister conversation. Mimi and Musetta in the cafe before things became sad and then tragic. Talking about muffs and bonnets. :)

Oh, that wasn't what I meant to say at all! Words escape me. Lovely poem with just the right amount of crema and froth. :)
