kate5kiwis: Let's play...The Name Game!!!

“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.” — Mitsugi Saotome

Let's play...The Name Game!!!

The short version: There's a "Name The Car And The Fish" competition running here (photos below). We'd love to hear your suggestions. There's a prize of a CHOCOLATE FISH for the winner/s... all you have to do is spend three seconds *thinking* of a name, and another three seconds *typing* it in the comments box...

The l-o-n-g version: When I was a little girl, I was firmly attached to our Volkswagen Beetle. It was light blue, had a six volt battery, smelled like the inside of a leather satchel, and sounded perfectly comforting for the long weekend drives to nowhere. Our Beetle was aptly named Noddy (after its namesake's little blue and yellow car) and it usually ended up at a playground on a Sunday where Greg and I negotiated the locals while Dad caught forty winks in the car, cos he and Mum liked to burn the candle at both ends. I can't remember what our subsequent cars were called, cos I miss Noddy so much, but now Dad has Red Ted.

Shortly after Hubby and I started *going out* he acquired a car creatively referred to as The Morrie, and since then we've had quite a few vehicles (or visa-cles, as Hubby tends to call them, no hints as to "why"). We've had a sporty little red number, and the White Hot Van (our first more-than-two-kids car), The Cranny (cranberry coloured preggie-goldfish-van) and recently Rasputin, Hubby's little bomb, which is so-called because it refuses to die, lol. And of course The Sardine Tin, a teeny mitsubishi chariot we squashed all the sardines kiddos into. Which has died.

Introducing our newest addition:

which seriously needs a name. It's a very deep teal colour, and has seven roomy seats. It looks rather wet cos the rain was absolutely *persisting* down today.

M6 is also wondering what to call his new fish:
(the one at the bottom), which is a girl, he thinks. D18 suggested "Susie" and I thought he said "Sushi"... oops.

So we're taking name suggestions for the fish too. There's lots of room in the *comments* box, and how about the promise of a CHOCOLATE FISH (real, not virtual) for the winner/s, posted to your very own snail mail box... m-m-m-m-m!!!!!

My Sister names all her cars, which I find rather fun. I used to but then kinda stopped after the old van (dubbed the blue pigeon) died. So our newest addition is yet to be named. (should I mention my old teeny convertible was named 'the sewing machine'?)

Anyhow, on to your new addition...
Blue Streak (I know it's teal, but teal is made from blue)
Cool Runnings
hmm.. can't think of anything else, will come back if I think of another as I am now naming our truck.

As for the fish, Fred sounds good to me :)

Names for the fish - what about Jane after Henry V111's 3rd wife? (guess who just finished the SUnday Star free book - the Boleyn Inheritance - brilliant) Or Felicity or Michelle or Poppy (Grant is not into Poppy as a childs name....so what about a fish??) - you have to give it a real name, let it be part of your family...which would possibly mean I should be thinking of an 'el' name...hmmm possibly too early to be that creative...

Mystique (or Misty for short *Play Misty for Me*
Or Storm
Or something hippyish like Ocean or Pacific or Tasman (which is far more interesting than the pacific and you could see if everyday if you lived here - just saying).
Or ah, Bluebell? LOL
It's lovely anyway, regardless of what you name it :)

As for the fish

Well, since I kinda paid for it I think I should have naming rights. So, how about the Flying Gherkin OR Sea Cucumber (since we live near the sea and all) OR The Larry Mobile (emphasis on any syllable you like) in honour of Larry-Boy - he's our hero!
The fish . . . .? How about naming it n Chips OR JAWS OR Catfood OR . . .

If the Bulldog paid for the car I suggest you all call it "the kennel", as a mark of respect to the grafter !

As for the fish - only one thing goes with fish and its not batter !
