It's the most wonderful time of the year...
It's a Friday, but all the 5kiwikids are at home today. D18 has finished his final school exams and is in bed recovering from having his four wisdom teeth out yesterday (good thing his wisdom wasn't removed *before* the exams lol) and R14 is home because we were all gonna go on a School Trip to the beach, but it's a grey day (I know, what's a grey day doing in The Sunny Bay???) and they ain't going.
every. single. decoration. we. can. find.
but we are totally avoiding The Mall, cos I am having such a violent reaction to all the Christmas Commercialism that's being shoved down my throat. Actually I'm doing a lot of self-talk about how wonderful this time of year is, and dusting off our luffly traditions to keep the beauty of Christmas alive. Which is why I love having beautiful children all around, cos they are always so wowed out by the wonderfulness of Christmas X

Mmmmm, what a fun, relaxing day!
Well, it's not that I don't like your Christmas story, but for the life of me I can't see The Grinch, or the Who's down in Whoville?!?!
I trust they are over the back somewhere? xxxx
Kate I'll bring a box of candy canes when we visit - save you an extra trip to the mall;-)
AND, more importnatly, much more importnatly.....you are looking FAB. Look at ya girl - go study that photo closely!!! SO happy for you and not at all sad that we have eaten two pavlovas in the last two days!
Is that you in the white shirt or Rachie? Seriously Katie, you are getting skinny girl! You are sworn off carbs and here's me having a pure complex carb christmas cake diet!! I have eaten mainly cakes, slices and crackers over the last two weeks, and looking at you now I feel like a lump! I have been great up until this week with the walking, which does help the brain "think" your skinny! Anyway, I better get back to it by the looks!
Re violent reaction to Christmas Commercialism, SAME! I felt so sad a couple weeks ago, but am feeling like we are back in control of Christmas, and not the mailbox flyers controlling our household! See my posts "Christmas Conversation" and "Advent" for my opinion about this whole scene. See ya skinny! xx
Oh, what a lovely tree and Christmas story! Fun, fun day!
I agree with you on the commercialism - yuck!
Kate! Is that you in the white sweater?? You look fab darling. I may have to check out your plan after Christmas :).
I so love your tree. We hope to do ours this weekend. And although the Mall cannot be entirely avoided, I have been making a lot of presents this year.
HI ya,
This will sound stalker-like but if you click on the photo of you, it blows up and you getter a better idea of how FABULOUS you are looking!!
I am managing to stay off carbs inbetween the various Christmas celebrations we are going to - although Book Club was a total write off - Lovely Lindaur Fraise, various Curries, and Brownie & Expresso/Dark Chocolate Icecream for dessert - all bad but divine....had a VERY good day on Friday to counter balance it all!!
Love Lxxx
