kate5kiwis: a little sand in our happy place

“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.” — Mitsugi Saotome

a little sand in our happy place

(title nicked from beachmama. beach photo for you too, mwah.)

hmmm, we've pretty much decided *not* to go camping this year:
we had a week in
The Big Smoke over Christmas and are heading up there again sans kiddos for The Police Concert the weekend after next... YAY!!!
The Sardine Tin is needing to go to Sardine Tin Heaven and be replaced by a Silver Bullet.
we still need a new fridge/freezer.

so with all that $$$ in mind, we'll probably just put the tents up on the back lawn and zip to the beach in the mornings, cos it's heaven:

the water is warm and salty and bubbly and the beach is hot and sunny, and this morning the local radio station was giving out delish berry gelato ice blocks just as we were leaving... all the kids had to do to qualify for some sweet pinky frozenness was make a sand sculpture: they made a super duper quick collaborative sandflower sunflower.

so i'm thinking:
*sounds convincing*

The Sunny Bay is the *best* summer holiday destination in the whole of the North Island:
it totally beats being parked up cheek-by-jowl at the lake with all the other zillion campers... and we have a whole back lawn *and* The ever-so-fabulous Secret Garden to ourselves.

*rearranges previous sentence*
everyone in the WORLD wants to go summer-holidaying in The Sunny Bay, and we're already here in paradise!

what is wrong with me?
*slaps forehead and sends camping-wish packing*
we're so totally thankful for our wonderful life and we love our happy place here in the sunshine X
