mum, let's make a grass skirt. all we need is plastic grass.
that FINGERTIPS programme has a *lot* to answer for. it's on morning telly, and M4 and S8 watch it avidly whenever they can twist my arm up behind my back to turn it on. from dinosaur rubbish bins.. to interior designing with your own painty-footprints.. to grass skirts, you can make anything.
er, right.
well, we didn't have a stash of "plastic grass" just lion around yesterday morning, so we had to steal some of D16's newspaper delivery extras.. and created our own kiwi-style-dancin-costume, which got worn all day.. to ten pin bowling, to the sister's birthday party at the park, and nearly to bed. it's on again bright and early this morning.

Wow! A newspaper "grass" skirt! My son would love this. I may have to attempt it :)
You've got a lovely family, and it looks like you've got ots of birthdays going on. I hope y'all are having lots of fun celebrating!
Thanks for stopping by my blog this week :)
That's so cute! How did you make it?
easy peasy:
we just lay about 5 sheets of newspaper in a stack, then cut the paper into strips, starting at the bottom, leaving about two inches at the top (uncut) to make the waistband. then we ran sticky tape around the waist and shimmied it all on !!!!
happy twirling :o)
