kate5kiwis: still in love

kate5kiwis

“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.” — Mitsugi Saotome

still in love

nineteen years ago you put a circle of gold around my finger and we promised ourselves to each other:
and for a moment the whole world
revolved around one boy and one girl.

today we're stll dancing to our melodious tune:

Dancing toward Bethlehem
If there is only enough time in the final
minutes of the twentieth century for one last dance
I would like to be dancing it slowly with you,

say, in the ballroom of a seaside hotel.
My palm would press into the small of your back
as the past hundred years collapsed into a pile
of mirrors or buttons or frivolous shoes,

just as the floor of the ninteenth century gave way
and disappeared in a red cloud of brick dust.
There will be no time to order another drink
or worry about what was never said,

not with the orchestra sliding into the sea
and all our attention devoted to humming
whatever it was they were playing.

(poem by Billy Collins, found in Sailing Alone Around the Room)

Yep – it’s amazing the 19 years have passed so quickly – where has the time gone?
(ps - Who is that young bloke with you in the photos and where has he gone?)
The last 19 years have been a blast – I have loved travelling them with you. Where shall we go for the next 19?

I am looking forward to tonight – wining, dining, gazing into your eyes and inwardly dancing to the sound of your lilting voice.

Now, as then – you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love . . . I love . . . I love you.

You guys are just adorable, I swear. I have to link your blog to mine, probably in the crafting section, Either that or I have to start an "adorable family" section.

I think we are all about the same age....you guys born around 1968?

Much love,
LuLu
