kate5kiwis: high tea

“If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.” — Mitsugi Saotome

high tea

we're planning a bit of a 'tea party' while watching footage of the royals tonight. the menu currently looks like this:

cream anyone?
(there are, of course, a few
foodie bits which aren't very british,
but we have to keep the boys happy)

historically, every scone i've evah made has turned out like a brick. but in honour of all things blighty, i thought i'd give them a(nother) go:

enter the fb friends' light-and-fluffy scones recipe:
PREHEAT OVEN TO 200 C FAN BAKE.
SIFT INTO BOWL:
4 c self-raising flour
pinch salt
POUR IN:
300ml cream
300ml lemonade
STIR LIGHTLY UNTIL JUST COMBINED. TIP ONTO FLOURED BENCH, SIFT A LITTLE EXTRA FLOUR OVER. GENTLY SPREAD INTO SQUARISH SHAPE. CUT CAREFULLY AND PLACE ON LINED OVEN TRAY CLOSE TOGETHER SO THEY HELP EACH OTHER RISE (apparently true). BAKE 12 MINS UNTIL GOLDEN. COOL ON BENCH. SPLIT AND SERVE WITH RASPBERRY JAM AND SOFTLY WHIPPED CREAM.

***HOHLY MOHLY!!!!!***
these have just been pronounced
the lightest-and-fluffiest-scOHnes-in-the-universe.
oh, those *sparkly* things are $2 shop light-up tiaras...

which will be compulsory wear X

Bonjour to my two princesses. Wasn't it gorgeous? Kate looked a vision and so did wills. I loved her dress - very Grace Kelly - I loved the fairytaleness of it all. Your party sounds Devine and I would have loved to have joined you. X

Oh how fun! We were shouted down by a scrum of boys and had to watch the basketball first but we switched over in time to see all the impotent bits. In love with some of the royal hats and oh Pippa Middleton, was she a stunning sister or what? Sophie swanning around in my wedding dress pretending to be The Princess. Magic.

Hello Kate:

I know your blog from Barb the Evil Genius.

What time do you watch the weddings?
If we Americans want to watch, we have to get up at 4am (Not going to happen).
