my son, i've told you your birth story tons of times.
you were my first home birth, and the only one of my babies who was born in the middle of the night. everyone else was born after dawn.

i remember walking around our little house, lighting candles, and listening to inspiring music. maybe that's the beginnings of your muso-ness?? actually, i think you were born with the music already in you.

for all your skater boyishness and sporty genes and crazy loud music and general hilarity, there's a beautiful sweetness of soul, a serious intensity that i see every time i look in your eyes.
