i'm not sure what the general protocol is for this kind of thing (cos Auntie Mim taught R14 how to use The Machine), but we started with a tandem effort of S10 operating the foot pedal and moi giving the verbal instructions and feeding the fabric through the presser foot until S10 had enough know-how to do it self.and do it self, he did:
it took all morning, and lookit the skater-boy results:
(gosh you're a GORGEOUS boy!!) meet the latest Turn Your Jeans Into A Couture MANBAG which is lined with S10's favourite summer shirt...
yeah, the inside skinside is covered in flames and dragons (at the bottom, hiding).... and even has its very own secret pocket. cos we're all about the secret pocket.

ReplyDeleteMy ten (oops he was 11 last week - haven't caught up yet) year old has jeans like that - no knees and the legs are turning into skirts. But he loves them. Although he has now been banned by the ski club from wearing them as they do not constitute trousers anymore apparently.
What a dude - that bag is the last word!
ReplyDeleteNo no no, he is sooooo meant to be 3!!!!!!! I cannnot believe what a spunk your little S is! Very cool man bag!
ReplyDelete"and do it self, he did"
ReplyDeleteWow! That's just amazing. He was not just motivated to want one made from his old pants, he was motivated to make it himself! A kid like that is free to do and be whatever he wants in his life. Isn't that fantastic? :D
Very cool and very impressive! And lined too. WOW. If only the other boys would get in on the fun :)
ReplyDeleteWahoo, secret squirrel meets skater-boy!
