lazy hazy crazy days of summer

ok, here goes:
a billion summer photos of the last two weeks:
Christmas in The Big Smoke:
The Gang's first ever trip to Rainbow's End.
hubby and i have great teenage memories
of The Log Flume Ride lol

these guys all *loved* the Fear Fall and went on it again and again.

Little Miss Sunshine

the whole crew went to Devonport
on the bus and the ferry and Shank's Pony.

ferry ride

the higher up the mountain,
the greener grows the grass...

view from the top of Mt Victoria, Devonport

looking across to Rangitoto,
our childhood mountain island

spying out the land:
D18's new digs for 2008

J11 found a grand piano

walking across Grafton Bridge

big bruvva, little bruvva

i would walk five hundred miles
(guess the song lyrics)

*sold*
yeah, he's mine.

The New Year in The Sunny Bay:

"say, cheese"
(it took about five billion tries
to get this one shot,
gosh Ken, you kept us giggling)

poseurs

pouncers
just an aside: Louise and i floated down this stream in tyres, i assed out! and have bruised my shoulder and scratched various parts of my anatomy (everybody chorus, "Poor Katie!")
it's ok Dad, i didn't lose my glasses (i've lost countless pairs of specs over the years jumping off waterfalls, tumbling in the surf, but i do like to see you know)

roll out the barrell

"Watch out for that TREE!!"
(guess the movie line)

"R-A-W-R!!!"

told ya my toenails are cute X

and thus ends the photofest.
there are a billion more wonderful memories besides (except Christmas day. i was sick-as-a-dog on Christmas day. huge ups to my dahling mum and dad who canned their plans and nursed me and J11, we were all devastated to miss the Christmas party with Hubby's rellies), but my brain is so blonde and my pilates is calling me so i ain't gonna write 'em.

i don't traditionally make New Year's Reso's, cos they only last two weeks. but i think i'll break with tradition and say: "i won't willingly have a two week hiatus from blogging again."
*grin*

Happy New Year to you and yours.
here's to finding the *sparkle* in every day in 2008.

  2. Okay, the song is by The Proclaimers, I think, and the movie is obviously George of the Jungle. Hope we have as much fun when summer rolls around here.
